What is a skin consultation?
A skin consultation is undertaken by a therapist who specialises in skin care. You will be asked a few questions about your skin routine and a thorough assessment will be done, to determine problem areas and a suitable treatment programme.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is an anti-ageing skin treatment, which involves the spraying of a fine mist of microscopic crystals on the face, to gently exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells.
It can be used for a range of treatments, as the power of the spray can be controlled to produce anything from a gentle buffing – to provide a more youthful appearance, improve fine lines and wrinkles and dislodge blackheads – to a deep exfoliation which can be used to treat acne, pigmentation and even stretch marks.
A single treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes and it is recommended that customers undertake a series of 5 treatments, one per week.
Microdermabrasion is a relatively straightforward and non-invasive treatment, which may begin straight after a skin consultation. The immediate results are a softer and smoother skin, accompanied by a healthy glow.
What is a non surgical facelift?
There are several treatments available nowadays, which can be classified as ‘non-surgical facelifts’. The term basically describes any procedure which gives visible anti-ageing effects, without any invasive surgery.
Electrical facials performed by CACI, Guinot and other companies such as Ultratone will electronically stimulate the facial muscles. Other popular options include dermal fillers which replace lost collagen in the face and Thermage, a skin tightening process that uses radio frequency technology to stimulate collagen development deep within the layers of the skin.
